                TWO THOUSAND MILES
                     By  Billie  Cullimore

Some where in a dream world
               Lovers meet and kiss.
           Two thousand miles discarded
               By Venus dreamy bliss.

            Some where in the darkness
              Across the massive land
                We can be together
              I can touch your hand.

Two thousand miles of rolling plaines
        Buildings, mountains, country lanes.
Where Sorghum grows beside a stream,
              Drinking the nectar of
                loves sweet dream.

Two thousand miles of earth and air.
               Oh! Darling, is it fare?
To be so close and yet so far,
As Heaven and a tiny star.

While on a lonely vigil here,
             The moon looks down and
                 sees you there.
Together we can watch it glide
Closing a gap, two thousand miles wide.

Oh, I love it, dear Billie! I think many can relate to your feelings, so beautifully expressed here. So good that there is the moon as a reference point!

Love,
Margherita

Yo dear Billie,

I used to get those letters, but from only about 1000 miles away.  I was in Fort Hood Texas, and of course my wife-to-be was in Philadelphia.

It's a lovely letter Hon.
