All is still, this strange hushed morn
No song of birds, no traffic horn
For mist has claimed the earth today
Enshrouding all in softest grey

Concealing shape and muffling sound
Transforming, changing all around
Weaving spells of black and white
Disguising each familiar sight

Revealing now an eerie grace
A delicate shawl of silver lace
Until at last, as day wears on
I look, and find the mist has gone

When waving leafy trees appear
Out of the magic atmosphere
I briefly mourn the ghostly hand
That made the world a spellbound land

Absolutely beautiful Heart2Heart. Both, the picture and the poem. You have become one of my favorite poets.

Thanks everybody.  We had one of those hazy days of August yesterday morning.  And after a few hours the mist cleared away and it turned out to be one of those brilliant blue and clear late and mellow summer days The mist drifts in from the sea where I live, but very often it vanishes after an hour or two in the mornings.

Thanks all for your sweet replies.  Alison I find most of my pictures on flickr.com, my daughter is member there and has taken many of the photographs I use. She's a fantastic photographer.
