Please…don’t
ask to see me
after all this time,
Not after all the
melancholy minutes
gone by.

Please…don’t
make me acquiesce,
And please…don’t
make me cry,
The simple fact
that you’re asking
makes it hard
to deny you.

Please…now
let me be,
I don’t want
to need you,
That fragile wound
would just bleed.

Again…don’t
misunderstand me,
I’m tempted,
really…
This time I just know
what’s right for me,
and it’s not you.
