Dear Romeo,

If your life has been in vain
so has mine
I, at my balcony
listening to the bittersweet sound
of the nightingale
Praying that it was your voice
singing in my ears
I await the day
you stand beneath my balcony
professing your sweet love
Sorrow echos
with each passing day
I stare at the moon yearning
to see it's twilight
in the ocean of your eyes
Are we destined to
be star crossed lovers
doomed to roam this earth
without one another
O, my heart breaks
For never was a story of more woe
Than that of your fair Juliet
and that of you, my sweet Romeo

Yours in this life and in death,

Juliet

The only time we waste is the time we spend thinking we are alone.

awww...I teach Romeo and Juliet every spring and I never get tired of the story.

My favorite line:
"I stare at the moon yearning
to see it's twilight
in the ocean of your eyes"--simply beautiful.

Such a woman, your Juliet...
and a beautiful pictograph to allow
the senses to meld.

Good job, Kris!

Nice write and presentation of yearning.

Hope your personal Romeo shows up soon and sweeps you off that balcony on a full moon night with twinkling cascading starlight surrounding both of you!
