the ticking of the clock serves to remind
that what we have is fragile--this thing we call time
never know if it is the last day or if our life has just begun
only know that I should hold on as tight as I can and not run

no one said it would be easy
love just doesn't work that way
we fight and continue to struggle
simply making it day by day

these tears that rain on my pillow
they serve a purpose-to make me stronger
I will fight for you
some things just take longer

your soul lights up my world
it brought a smile the size of the ocean to my face
you're beautiful inside and out
finally feel like I'm home...found my safe place

that clock on the wall all but forgotten
time still ticking but I can't hear it as much now
I know it will all work out...everything
someway...someday...somehow

"we have but a moment...only one moment"

Apparently we are on the same wavelength, as I have been thinking of time and its fragile nature lately too.

Great poem, and welcome to Passions!

Hi, Amy! Welcome aboard!

At times, Tempus Fugit (time flies), and at others it just drags by tick...tock, tick...tock.

The frustrating part is that it flies when we're having fun ~ and slows to a crawl when we are not!

I enjoyed your entire poem, however, the positive, hopeful closing stanza brought a big smile to my face.

"that clock on the wall all but forgotten
time still ticking but I can't hear it as much now
I know it will all work out...everything
someway...someday...somehow"

Giving you a warm, welcoming pip hug,

Earth Angel

Take care,
