Outside the door
and a few steps down

Jumping, whirling
and thrashing around

Flashes of yellow,
orange and green

Seeing, not knowing
what is seen

Whatever it was,
it seemed to be hurt

Flopping and rolling
around in the dirt

Finally, it stood
and started to walk.

An Amazon Parrot

It could not talk

It had no beak

Could not make a sound

Its' head was green
and perfectly round

I said,
"I'll take care of you"

"I'll help you get well"

When it looked at me,
is when my heart fell

Eyes in a ball,
with my eyes, did meet

In great sadness,
I wondered,

"How will you eat?"

and then I woke up

Yo XOx Uriah xOX,

I'm happy it was only a dream.  Good work.

You had tears welling in my heart, Uriah.  But, you know, this poem speaks volumes about the kind of man you are.  I think it's a keeper for that reason - and the fact that it's one I will want to read again.

Thank you.
