Dedicated to my closest friend Rhette.

smr2

A bond so close
A friend so dear
Forever united
By a love so sincere

You lifted my spirits
When the light got dim
You salvaged my smile
From the grips of the grim

Then it all halted,
And my world became a blur
You were being beckoned
By the heavens monsieur

I sat by your side
For hours turned to days
I bargained with the devil
And he pulled you from the haze

Now we cherish every second
We spend by each others side
We laugh at every given chance
And take the bad in our stride

There is an incredible force
That binds our souls as one
As we face this world together
In these lives that have just begun.

Inside this exterior, over which the eye might have roved there was the record of a pulsing life, which had learnt too well for its years – Thomas Har
