Half Past Feeling Blue

Too much pain,
not enough pleasure
not enough to measure
the insurmountable distance between me and you

In this heart you reigned
can't find any treasure
can't get past feeling unsure
of this fantasized future I've built for me and you

I don't know what to do
half past feeling blue

Choked by memories
restrained by uncertainty
I remain ever cursed to be
meandering around the depths of what I feel

And I'm down on my knees
begging the life of me
bring an end to loving lonely
discovering the shallows, the beauty of how I feel

Old flame burns anew
half past feeling blue

I only think of you
I only need from you
to think of me too
just the way I do

But when you walk away
you still beg me to stay
just 'till half past feeling blue

Too much rain,
filthy the once-cleared air
we lost ourselves there
this insurmountable distance between me and you
tell me now, there is still,
somewhere, somehow
innocent, beautiful me and you

Old flame burns through and through
I only need everything from you
but I never know what I can do
half past feeling blue

"Now if I seem to be afraid
to live the life that I have made in song,
well it's just that I've been losing for so long" -Jackson Browne 'These Days

How is it that after your heart is ripped out, you feel so much?

These would make great lyrics to a blues song.

Lyrical and melancholic.

~ "I don't know what to do
half past feeling blue"

~ "And I'm down on my knees
begging the life of me
bring an end to loving lonely"

You 'sang' this sad 'song' very convincingly.

i love this

it's amazingly simple,and that's what i love about it

subtelty and simplicity are two things that i love in writing, and those are two ways i would describe this poem, especially "I don't know what to do/half past feeling blue"

great,great job.
