Do you remember, he thought silently,
as waters fell and bells did knell....
Do you remember when two was the onliest
number and one was the lonliest
day...

A day when the flower did quickly bloom  and
take a place near the bow.  A day when there
was so little room and the boat was only a scow.

When rivers did flow and waters did fall and
time brought one closer to two.  When children
did throw a flat rock huge and small in wait
of being born again new.

When frowns became smiles and eyes shown so
bright and stars did fall silently.  When
fairies did flit in the darkness of light
and one hoped to be one...not a three.

For there would soon be a search for
one pedigree for two hearts did admire
what was seen.    As they walked in
the night in search of one sight where
one light was once red...not
green.

Intriguingly beautiful, dear Barry, with a touch of melancholy that can't be ignored.

Love,

Barry,

This is like a peek into someone's soul.  I like it and it moved me.

I got a lump in my throat when I came to your closing stanza `

"As they walked in
the night in search of one sight where
one light was once red...not
green."

Loving hug,
Linda

'Do you remember when two was the onliest

I do!

And now that I understand the closing stanza, (thank you) I read EarthyAngel's reply with a cloistered smile~
