Tried to write about - but couldn’t ... again.

I’m never sure I can write a word here or there,
with feeling,
when I sit and begin to type –
especially the sadness some situations possess.
Case in point: my father’s death several years ago.
Words still fail me there.
Or  the young man who rode a school bus I once drove.
He turned twenty-one on the last day of school,
was told he couldn’t come back because of his age,
had just failed the tenth-grade,
was born with Down’s Syndrome,
cried the whole thirty-five minutes it took me to get him home.
Words still fail me there too.
Sometimes I think I get right and I didn’t even try,
but there are those I try over and over, like the two above,
and I still can’t find the words.
They’re there, I know.
My soul just won’t turn them loose;
it still fears the crying may never stop.
But I think it’s wrong, my soul that is.
I’ll cry, no doubt – I do that – but that’s a good thing.
It helps the pent up anguish.
I don’t know if I’ll ever find the words
my father needs, or what I felt that last day of school –
maybe these will be all there is.
I only know that words conveying feelings,
especially those so full of tears,
may be the toughest words of all.

jimmy, you did find the words and expressed them so genuinely, that my eyes have misted up.

One of my favourite type of poems is about poets writing about poetry and their writing experience. This was uniquely expressed and it is being tucked into my library.

You have a tender soul, dear Poet.

Giving you a loving hug,
Linda

MyFriend~
By writing about not being able to write about it ... you've purged a poignant piece~

We see and hear so many things in life that touch us deeply and we feel like we cannot express the pain or joy we are feeling.
Once I wrote about a neighborhood that had changed so. Once about a lady who rode the the bus and how she had changed. From smiles to a frown of pain.
You did a good jobber here.
Hugs

Jimmy, m'friend I get through these blue pages so little anymore it seems and I have to tell you how very happy I am to have found this here tonight.

The words that you can't seem to find
are some of the most beautiful words
that I have ever heard

your soul soars m'friend....high with the angels.  Hugs ~D

Oh Jimmy that is so good, a poignant heart touching poem that shows just what sort of

person you are. Very well written, take a bow my friend.

We all have things we can't bring ourselves to write about, Jimmy but most of us don't
"not write about it" as well as you do.
