Falling

With my head resting upon my hand I lie beside you and watch you while you are sleeping,
Wondering what it is your dreaming.
A smile appears on your face and I think
“Do you dream the same as I?”

Where we rest upon a hill on a warm summers evening,
with you laid in my arms as we watch the aerial grace of
the swallows as they dance to the ballads of the crickets
singing in the grass.

As the sun begins to set covering us with its scarlet satin
sheets I look into your eyes and see them turning red,
not the red of the setting sun, but red with my heart as it
slowly rises a little more in your eyes with each passing
sunset.

So now as I watch you sleeping next to me I lean over
and gently kiss you on your head goodnight, happy at the
thought that even when you are sleeping you can make
me smile.

With your shared smile upon my face I close my eyes
and
drop off into the world of dreams where hopefully ill
land beside you, on top of that hill, laid in each others
arms and looking into each others eyes as we slowly
swap our hearts.
