People hate Angelo,
he doesn’t know why.

People don’t want
to be his friend.

People avoid him.

People look at him,
and turn up their noses.

People have always
treated him that way.

Angelo doesn’t understand,
he asks Felix about it.

Felix tells him
not to worry about it.

Felix tells him it’s because he’s poor,
and doesn’t have any money.

Felix tells him people in this country,
worship money.

Felix tells him it’s a mistake
people make.

Felix tells him people in this country
don’t think you’re worth anything,
unless you earn money.

Felix tells him
to get a job
as soon as he can.

Bobby

If people doesnt like to be his friends that means they do not appreciate him and they already lost his friendship. We do not approach people by how they react or by one inceident. Each one of us is special and we should dig inside of each person's character to understand the reality of how nice he is.

You know, Bobby, so often wisdom and humor are mixed together.  That is how I see the above quote.  I laughed and agreed with Felix.

Thanks Ramisf,

What you say is very true.  Many people, I've found cannot look past your neighborhood, or your family's reputation.

Welcome to the site.

Thanks dear Alison,

Sometimes finding a job is more difficult than you would imagine.

In particular if your Felix's kid, with Felix’s bad reputation.

Thanks Prasad,

I'll tell Angelo that.  You're already on Angelo's "Good List".

Thanks for understanding the poem.

Bobby,

I understand that it is not easy to get a job and I was not belittling Angelo's beliefs.  However, what Felix said was sensible and struck me as humorous in the blunt manner in which it was stated.

Please, don't make assumptions that I don't understand poverty, difficulty in obtaining employment, human bias against those with little money, or any of the social situations that you write about.

I might be happier if I did not understand, but I doubt it.

Thanks dear Alison,

Take comfort in the fact that it's not good, or sane, to be "happy".

We all should.

Is that where the expression "misery loves company" comes from, Bobby?

Actually, I am happy, but I never did claim to be sane.  I think happiness is a wonderful condition and sanity is simply over-rated.

Love,

Thanks dear Ida,

Angelo always takes Felix's advice.  Angelo's a good boy.
