Stone Art

poker face sit to the window tonight
clouded breath on separation glass
wick lit in yellow liquefy slow drip
pale the only warmth I see in disk
dark outside in sleepy wind chilled
naked desperate trees shiver empty
rebound leaves turn spiral still tour
silently aching in that lost connection
winter has the boldness of stone art
slowly breaking down the thick to thin
in occupied greenless desolate desert
selfish season please reverse this spell
transform twisting change of direction
unwind this crimson curse in grey despair

"no darkness has ever been deep enough to extinguish my personal knowledge of love"  Anne Rice

I enjoyed this very much, for the intricate words and rhythm, besides just being a great read. Thanks.

"naked desperate trees shiver empty"

...cool assembly of words in a bouquet of colors and verbiage...well crafted...you are always good, but better of late...much better (imho)

I enjoyed the stark setting and I echo the plea.

Helen,

This is good stream of consciousness writing.  I like it.
