I boarded the helicopter,
the Grand Canyon fired
the tongue as to gulp down
all of us who passed
in the cloudless sky,
I saw the animal
crawling in muddy waters,
winding in the red rocks,
threatening the stinging sun,
abandoning finally its lazy hunting,
leaving me
insect quartered by the noise
of rotors
return in the heliport….
My thoughts amazed the river in floods….

Yo Yann,

This is fine writing.  The Grand Canyon is an amazing sight.  I was taken there when I was about seven for a visit.  I'll never forget it.

I loved this, Yann.  I have never been to America except through your eyes, and those of others.  Thank you.

I hope the animal in the muddy waters got some supper with as little pain and suffering to the prey as possible.

Yo Bobby, 7 years old is a time to remember specially if you did things like that...I had the chance to visit it in july with sunny weather with two friends...It was great and unforgettable but we did just a little part and didn't go down to the river (spend one evening and two days)..I was the only one to choose the helicopter which is impressive and what I remember the most is the awful noise (even with ears masks) . Thank you for your kind comment.

Hi Owl, thank you for the kind comment....The river in grand canyon (colorado) do like to a theratening snake and the visit can be dangerous (very long walks in the sun)...That is the reason I introduce danger in the poem....West america is one of the most fabulous place to visit (every day has something extraordinary to discover) and spend one or two months here is quite amazing...I appreciate very much your comment.

It really depends of the lights, too sunny is no good, at dawn or at evening are the best moments to my eyes...Thank you for the appreciated comment.

Wonderful...I think I visited the Grand Canyon as a child with my parents...I know that I visited the Painted Desert, I remember running down and falling and tumbling...James

thought for sure I had already commented on this...well, simply making up for what should have already been...the kind of write where you let the reader feel like we were there with you--where we feel for sure you were there 'cause we can tell it in your very descriptive words...well done, very well done
