“I miss her so much”, She said to me,
As tears slipped from her eye,
I can’t imagine the Holidays this year,
I feel so sad; I can’t help but cry,

She loved to give and plan and scheme,
For everyone, some special gift,
If it took all year, or just a minute,
She’d do her best to fulfill your wish,

The Holidays would bring her such happiness,
Not just in the getting and giving,
It was gathering her loved ones close,
That was her great joy in living,

It’s going to be so hard without her,
Christmas just wont be the same,
But the greatest gift she ever gave us,
Is the family we became.

The answer is always NO, Until the question is asked.

I loved this poem.
Thank you for sharing this personal event in your life. Writing about a lost loved one at this time of year helps to deal with the emptiness.

Thank you all for your kind words.
We lost my Mother-in-Law just a few months ago. I have been part of that family for 12 years and I miss her more that expected.
My Wife and her sisters are having a really hard time with Christmas.
I wrote this to help them remember what their mother gave them.

Love to all and rememeber to keep your loved ones close, especially at this time of year.

Have a very Merry Christmas

Love and poetic wishes to all   WT.

I lost my dad in May, and I can't even think about it right now. He was my rock.
I'm sorry your wife and her sisters are hurting, missing. Remembering her this way is very sweet.I'm sure one the "girls" will pick up the torch and carry on the gathering
