This is one of my favorite times
early on a Sunday morning.  Why?
The house is quiet.
The scanner is quiet.
The coffee is hot and
I can just relax for a few minutes.

These are moments
of what I consider
to be a perfect day,
most notablely
the quiet scanner.

No one is loosing their
house or health...
all is quiet.

If I could have one wish,
I would wish for 1 day,
24 hours,
where ALL the emergency channels
would be quiet.

No one has difficulty breathing,
no strokes,
no one hurts,
no one falls,
no cuts,
scrapes,
or burns,
no heart attacks,
no drownings,
no car accidents,
no shootings,
beatings,
or stabbings,

NO Police calls,

NO EMS calls,

NO Fire calls...

everyone goes home alive
for just one day...

my PERFECT day.

(sigh)

…and the moment is gone, its not today.

Yes, that would be a very special day, indeed. It is one thing to hear of some things that happen through the news and another if you are personally on duty and have to get into action after the many calls.

Enjoy your silent, peaceful moments! On the other hand to be of help to people in need is a wonderful service to be involved in.

Love,
Margherita

That is indeed a perfect day. Although, in my case, I have too much quiet. Too much quiet, I don't think is good. I wish you the most peace, quiet day.

INclan,

I hope that you get your wish!  I would love to read a poem about your perfect day after it happened.  Bobby is right - this is an important poem.

Just one small (picky) thing -

quote:
No one is loosing their
house or health...
all is quiet.

I just wish that said, "No one is losing their
hours or health...

Other than that ... I really, really like this one.
