An Autumn Love Song

Summer is gone
Winter comes near
Autumn leaves a turning
Turning like a fire

I walk past the fire
Which falls like red rain drops
Slow, red rain drops falling
Around me life's color
Is not my own to hold

So beautiful are red...
Red rain drops from the sky
But these are not rain drops
They are dry and dead leaves

Crunchy, crunchy, crunchy
Red rain drops fall from trees
A smell of musk, cool air
Trees cry and children play

Crunchy, crunchy, crunchy

Their parents raked them up
Neat little leaf piles
Of red, crunchy raindrops

Very nice write, I particularly liked the ending.

Some people fall in love and touch the sky, some people fall in love and find quicksand.
