Guardian Dryad

A fragrant whisper rustles,
Hushed and tawny
From the movement
Of her flowered hair
As she turns her head
To peer within you
With eyes bright, and searching-
A gaze, which casts aside
The darkened gloom
And throws deception
To the winds
Of unveiling Truth,
Uncovering,
Undaunted,
They dare you
To play the fool.

Her magic is in the light
Of those penetrating eyes.
The angelic oval
Of her enchanting face
Draws you to them
Irresistibly.
The soft pout
Of inviting lips
Is forgotten
In that distracting stare.

The girl you thought you saw
Evolves before your eyes
Into the woman
You cannot bear to see
If you came to her forest
With no respect
For the trees.
For within her brown boles
Beats a scarlet heart
Peering out at you
Through the windows
Of her soul.
Its crimson blood is drawn
From deep beneath
The wizened earth,
Empowering her beyond
Your mortal
Ruse.

Wow, Garapan, I do love your Guardian Dryad!  Very inspiring.

I wish she was around to save my beloved tree when they came with no respect!

Enjoyed this much!!

Love,
Margherita

Yo XGarapanX,

I'm afraid we don't have many trees here, so we're not exactly infested with Dryads.

That's possibly a good thing.

Lovely poem and picture though.

Bobby

Sorry. She's mine, lol! Hey up there Philly man, I know what you mean. Been through a few times and it looks rather cityfied. But she's still a great town.

You are quite the poet, Sir, and I find myself looking
forward to reading you when I see your name on these blue pages.

From the look of things I think we need a few more of your lovely gardians, Brett.

This is an enchanting write! You did an excellent job of 'interpreting' the lady's gaze.

Blues Serenade, that is the second nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. The first was when the judge said, "dismissed."
