I saw an imposing river,
Far and wide.

Men and Women followed,
Who lived and died.

The flowing river takes me where I want to be.
It connects my life to the bottomless sea.

Will this river await my closing soul?
The anticipation takes its ghastly toll.

Is there a new ocean or stream for me?
Is it here and I’m choosing not to see?

When I finally discover utterly new streams,
It will consist of unknown themes.

For where it leads me: I will not return.
Will I be grateful or will I scorn?

This chaotic stream clashes with my destiny.
It could be the best or worst choice for me!

I could drown upon each hopeful path.
The afterlife might greet me through its wrath.

I could also become rich in pleasures for myself!
But isn’t vanity a sign of what greed is about?

Each decision affects my very being!
The obscure can truly become an enlightened freeing.

I’m undecided.
I can’t afford to lose.
The water rushes by, while I almost choose.

When you sit quietly at the riverbank and listen to your heart you will make the right choices.
Enjoyed your dreaming stream, it is a well written piece.

Love,

beautiful metaphor...Can we really choose ?
we have to plunge in the river...And your poem does ...

thank you for the enoyable reading...
