Falling stars in the afternoon
Not seen by the naked eye
While writing down my journal entries
And trying not to cry

The pale light given, from the moon
Transforms the darkest sky
The scattered words across the pages
Smeared ink begins to dry

The shadows dance upon my walls
The tick tock ticking sound is nigh
Each page I turn, is harder still
My hand moves steadily by

The stars sit bright on shelves above
Like raindrops way up high
The stillness in this room I feel
Makes me want to try

Looking at this velvet background
My thoughts they do imply
Of the time I’ve spent writing words
And the love of life I deny

Better to die, and sleep
The never-waking sleep, than linger on
And dare to live when the souls life is gone.
