Instead

Like, one tree in a forest
Like, a needle in the pine
Like, one petal of a flower
One true love, is hard to find.

Like, the tree, some will die
Like, the needle, falling dead
Like, a petal, tween a page
Emptiness, there in love's stead.

"One true love, is hard to find"

THE THIN LINE

Life's end is just a second round any unknown bend -
There is no way to tell just when it all may end -
Each moment of our lives is one of those precious few
And we hope down, deep inside that many more are due -
We wake up each morning and look through sleep-filled eyes
At the wonder of the world and infinite skies -
We see all those living things and the life there to share
Where we can make dreams come true if we really care -
We steal those moments from the clutch of Father Times' hand -
Sometimes not as many as we'd originally planned -
They can slip quickly away into the past, wasted -
Give bitter or sweet flavor to what we have tasted -
Sometimes they are those kind that are best of the best -
Then there are always those that will put us to the test -
We will never know and there is no way to tell
If tomorrow will bring heaven or total hell -
But, once those seconds pass they are forever gone
And one day all of us must face our final dawn -
So, of those spaces in between we should make the most
For some day we'll all be memories once we lose that timely host.

"one true love is hard to find"

~ Yes, but if we are fortunate enough to find it, we must realize that we are only the holders of it ~ not the keepers of it.

Enjoyed reading your thoughts.
