My mind goes out
to the sea, how
it moved me, swept
my thoughts on its
plashing waves. We stood
and watched it rising
and falling like a
crying, heaving chest, it
calls to me, to that
bay, that now is
darkended, calling along with
the gulls cries and
i must obey to
walk, be near it
and hear its call
to decide my future.

Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky, ring out the old, ring in the new, ring out the false, ring in the true..A Lord Tennyson

Nice thoughts the sea calls me to, but the sand gets everywhere.  I like walking the boardwalk, but have to stare at the breaking waves.  Interesting construction to the poem.

a fine poem of both introspection
and connection with Nature...

I am most especially fond of:

"My mind goes out
to the sea, how
it moved me, swept
my thoughts on its
plashing waves."

serious applause!!

The sea always calls to me, even now as I live far from it's thunderous waves and ebbing tides.
Listen closely, for it never lies.

So sad, lonely, and introspective ~ yet beautifully penned. Your writing is highly descriptive and I actually felt as if I was living your words as I read them.

Goldenrose,

This is beautiful and moves me.  I, too, am called by the sea.

Wonderful.

I can relate to this one Goldenrose. The sea draws me when I'm in trouble or have to make a big descision.
