Held Gently Talons

Beseech of spring, to reach the babbled brook
All un-promised promises, in twists and turns fate took
The path less traveled once led high, perchance the heart to hear
Fate will falter, time will travel, seasons change without a tear
Captive not, the wind or sky, nor am I

Canyons hold their beauty close, deep and down once flowed
The razors edge, against the ledge, all are paths I’ve toed
Mountains hold their majesty; my heart has been the peak
All prelude to what is now more vivid, with reticence I seek
Love can be an eagle, holding tight surrenders sigh
Once, held gently talons, but for the grace go I

For my embrace has manicured, to turn the talons in
And painted there, the whispered wish to gently fly again
So hold me now with ribbons, a kite that I can fly
Release the sunset to its rise, exchanged the views apply
Beseech of spring, this wondrous thing
That captured once my eye

TD

I am/was in he process of writing one with a babbling brook in it ( actually it was a stream) however, having read this gem, I may just leave it be...

Good one,

John
