My Valentine

Early morning -
sitting on the porch
watching pre-sun fog shroud bushes,
trees, patches of yard,
first avian singers of the day -

Thoughts on you still in bed,
drowsing in just loved slumber,
the smell of you still with me,
the touch of you still soft on my hand,
your lips still lingering,
the sounds of love still swirling. . .

Morning,
dawn's softness. . .
one, as surely as the love
wrapping our souls around and through,
over and under,
in an homogenous blend
of heat and splendor,
color and light.

Love, God's own,
in the early morning mist.
You and I the cause of it all. . .
today, this special day with you,
my Valentine.

...actually I cheated. I took an old piece, changed it slightly to make it be a valentine piece when today suddenly struck me for what it is.

James, in all honesty, that is one of the most sensuously sweet and sensitive love poems that I may have ever read!

I absolutely adore it! Not only are you a fine poet, but you are a very fine man!

Giving you a BIG Valentine's Day hug for this lovely penning!
