Shaking the stardust out of her hair
She had safely made it to the other side again
Time traveling had become her latest obsession
Wearing period clothes, she strolled along the avenue
Parasol in one hand, gloves and pocketbook in the other
Her hands traced patterns on Russian enamel vases
A massive bronze statue of Diana stared down at her while
a fountain splashed and danced in the background
She stood in a chapel of Louis Tiffany design
Ate Cracker Jack and rode the ferris wheel
Gazed at works by L'Hermitte

I love this, Tina. It has depth of soul and  an excitement about it.

Cool write!  I love to read about the Chicago Worlds fair. What a monumental undertaking it was..and full of so many innovations that we enjoy today.  Thank you for sharing this...Kat

Thanks for the kind comments.

kat, I always wondered about different spots in time I would go back to if I could. 1893 fair was definitely one of them. The art exhibit alone would be fabulous. Tiffany, Faberge'...ahh...wonderful stuff.

Tina,

I really like this.

Have you ever read the book, "Time and Again" by Jack Finney.  It's about time travel but is more of a novel than science fiction.  It is one of my most favorite books and your poem reminds me of it.

I think I'll have to dust it off and reread it again.

Wow!

I must say that I thouroughly enjoyed reading this. Keep up the good writing, and post more, perhaps, when your mind flurries into enigmatic releases of those founding juices!

Best regards,
Rob
