    Stonehenge
[Summer Solstice]

Parting company
with the cryptic
   clouds,
a solemn red sun,
sets beyond these
grand-enigmatic
‘standing stones,’
that whisper only
to the clear mind
  and heart,
(in fossil-echoes
haunting time)
of  lives and
purpose…
long forgotten,
‘til a most bemusing
   Moon,
temps a Celtic spirit
shadow-dance...
across this ancient,
verdant, mist-laced
   plain.

BRAVO! What wonderful Stonehenge imagery.
It felt as if I was dancing 'round them!

You KNOW I love this one. Stirs the Celtic spirit. Merlin would be proud.

Bruce

Every time I read this,
I love it.

I see mists swirling around the jutting stones and I wonder again about those who put them there.

And, again, I am loving your poetry.

Alison
