Winter Poems

1.     Winter: morning’s cold -
        Like a wet, freezing blanket
        Lying on your back,

2.     Cold, dark evenings
        Lovers together entwine
        In warm embraces.

3.     Misty fingers creep
Like smoke from damp burning wood
        Past frost-tinted leaves,

4.     As Winter deepened
        My Star grew ever brighter,
        But faded with Spring.

Mr. Mackay...

Haiku strung as the beginning of a choka
are some of my favorite reads. Thank you
for the four. I was hesitant to read of
winter, for ours is only just now passing,
as we welcome warmly the onset of spring
[which for us, may pass over into summer
by tomorrow, and it all just started today
it seems. ]

I also wanted to thank you for your comments
on my brother's poem. You were spot on with
your interpretation.

But you see, he keeps nagging me in my dreams...
So I need to write it out.

Thank you.

Wow!!   What a nice entrance you've made.
I enjoyed them all, and Haiku #3 is my favorite.

Welcome to Passions, ilsm~
