it was worth the walking distance
across my own comfort street
and around the corner of wondering

something about zoy shoe voodoo
and her liquor store lovely
a smile kind of music in her eyes

that made me think she had secrets
or wanted to know someone else's
and didn't mind the cigars really

or hearing she was pretty in her skin
with the red strap on her shoulder
and imagination only being imagined

when wanting more would be forbidden
