Larry Brown

Sun brushed, pecan swirls twisting
above peridot portals.
Bunyan’s blue blended with a teddy.
Magnanimous smile
intense enough to melt precious metals.

Traveling through other’s despair
to heal their beat.
That was the gift God gave.
Voluminous tears desiccated,
sadness forced to retreat.

Seeing beyond faux expressions,
reaching into core cellars.
An aged soul in a youthful vessel.
Elevating, supporting, transforming
foundations into pillars.

Alas, breathing in too few
of the Earth’s flavors.
Seasons,
just not enough given.
Carving fresh paths
out of blurred visions?
Never meant to journey that far.

Tammy~
This is a very touching render~

'An aged soul in a youthful vessel.'

That tells me so much about Larry~

So many great lines in your poem, one I shall read over more than a few times.
I especially liked the thought of carving new paths
through blurred visions.  Sheesh, aint it the truth though.

Really nice to read you, and ~welcome~

But the love is still there,
and nothing will ever replace that.

Not even such a loss.

Again, Tammy, welcome to Passions.

Tammy...I've just watched your, I Miss You Larry video, twice.  Thank you for sharing its treasure of love.  You have a wonderful talent for words born from this....I'll bet he's pleased to know that.

Tammy, I have seen the video & it is a fine touching tribute to your lovely son. There is so much I wish I could say but nothing that will help or alter the pain I am sure you must feel. His spirit will continue to soar & he will never be forgotten as long as you have a breath in your body. I would be devastated were that my child and I can only offer you my deepest sympathy.  Sorry really does not cut it...it just makes me feel so helpless I applaud your courage for posting the video I personally do not think I would have the strength to do so if I were in your position. God bless you and your other son & husband... John

Alison,

Thank you for the kind words on my writing and for the compassion you show… It means the world and helps more than you could know.

James,

Thank you so much. I am learning to write and I will take all the hugs I can get to help me on my way…

Martie,

Thank you for giving of your time to watch the video and meet Larry. This gives me hope, for as long as people continue to see his face, know his name, and learn just a little of his short but giving life, I know he will never truly be gone. Of course you know this as well as I do. I can only hope that my words will grow, in time, to carry  just a fraction of the beauty my son did and always will… Thank you also for sharing with me your beautiful Michelle, I hope Larry has met her because I know that if so, she has put many smiles on his face.

Dear John,

No, you cannot alter the pain, however you truly have helped… You gave of your time to meet and know of Larry and like you said, “His spirit will continue to soar and he will never be forgotten” not as long as such wonderful people as yourself and the ones I have met here on pip are on this Earth to help me keep Larry’s memory alive. You thought you were helpless but in fact you were not and you did do something about it… From the bottom of my heart, I thank you…

Bobby,

Thank you so very much…

I will hang in there. I have no choice. Larry expects it of me and his little brother needs it…
