The Leprechaun

If you look ‘cross meadows green
Just at dusk he can be seen
Dancing in the twilight air
Starlight in his flowing hair

Bearded chin and buckled shoes
Best be quick, no time to lose
If you want to get a wish
You must catch this slippery fish

But just be careful if you try
Or he’ll blow stardust in your eye
Then you'll quickly fall asleep
And you will be in trouble deep

You’ll awake inside his cave
Forever more to be his slave
Then you will be in a dither
Suffering from the ol’ come hither

But if you’re sly and quick enough
Avoiding all his tricky stuff
You may be the one so bold
To get his little pot of gold

So if you want to take a chance
Come with me and watch him dance
Then my dear the race is on
And you might catch that leprechaun

Dear Stephen, this is absolutely delightful.
And the music of rhyme is lovely too.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Love,
Margherita
