Genius and Insanity

A line of genius and insanity-
bubble of blurred opaque blister
awaiting its death or birth
a roaming across to another side.
That side nowhere hidden
supplemental, complimented
each side to the other,
although separated by micro-thin membrane
exactly the same…
You understand nowhere cannot be:
if something is nowhere that something does not exist;
yet your heart is filled with love
but you know your love is nowhere
your existence is simply listening to your heart;
it imagining to be who you are, but you ask:
“Who am I?  Am I as lovely as I see me to be,
in my mirror?”
And like a ghost you penetrate that blistered membrane;
one side to the other covering the mouth of the day behind
and folding those memories into desperate faded footprints.
Your words: a side of the blister, your song the other.
Combined to contain your screaming, and scheming to write another,
and another, and another…

And no one has stopped to listen or can understand,
offering nothing but glazed stares.
You see and hear their words and understand fully-
amazed no one can comprehend:
You are nowhere…

Ofttimes there truly is a touch of insanity that comes with genius. ~ and I can attest to that!

Listen to your heart and disregard the reflection in your mirror!

A fine penning, my friend!

Loves 'n hugs,

Although certainly not a genius, I have known a few in my time and being somewhat of an empath, have a sense of how they feel at times.  Genius write!  You capture what I have witnessed more than one time, JL.  *hugs*....jo

And then there is the link to "art"--for the ability to express the ideas that are born too soon for our language to define.

If necessity is the mother of invention though, then ignorance is the brother. Not knowing something can't be done can be deemed foolhardiness, or perseverence.

It's all about perspective...and the collective agreement of success--too often too late for comfort.

(I'm thinking of John Kennedy O'Toole and his Pulitzer prize winning book, "A Confederacy of Dunces", published post mortem after his suicide--this touching and hilarious book had been rejected repeatedly by editors/publishers, adding to the author's bouts of depression.)

Brava! Thoughtful and well done.
