Adoption of Angels
Yarn spinner,
activity driving fascination
Recoiling upright, polished intellect
Never experiencing breakfast alone
My solitude grows more extreme
To which I confess,
enjoys liberty
Slightly perverse

Though,
smiling at collected moods
And the good woman whose faults
Are not over stricken
with mocking tongues
Life and Heaven come to savor
As I go to the window
each morning for crumbs
After all, I am from their tone and spirit
a bird...
The all of me

Perhaps I am a vocalist of Venice
With domestic interests
Carrying some stone fanatical reverence
For the arts

I am a marble of granite
Hewn into something
from which spring grew
Evading opposition,
the hands of depression
And the spirits of fear I knew..

I am the runaway child
On a train to anywhere but here
So much regard to circumstance
Becomes invariably anxious
Like some new retreat
Bed and breakfast by the sea

It's simply wearing beautiful silks
Pale sweet colors of afternoons
Wandering in the mind of nature
She gives me her autograph
In pictorial passages

Where I shall be if you call
I will stammer of course
When you stand in the entrance hall
Though I will try true politeness
Training curiosity
Sincerely mine
To a circle of defiance
Dwelling on the space given for growth

It is there I'll take impression
Not in jealousy
Nor dislike
Never!
But in a space which facilitates good ghosts
Who are amused by intimate friends
The angel who guides me
Withholding nothing

Speaking fully of some deep sense
I've watched this for years
Thus,,,stirred & overcome with humbleness
Childlike simplicity touches
Like a husband of deeper means

Scottish ballads written in granite
Singing of the Bonny morning where
Courage never fails
Witnessing a thousand rainbows...
Encouraging strangers to know green
The true believers of dreams
Sometimes faced with course evenings...
Yet, their wings shooting straight up towards heaven

I have read this again and again --

and see wonderful woven into (as Baby Girl says) a tapestry.  You are a weaver, an artis, a poet - and a beautiful person.  All of which shines through in works like this one.

Lee, you are a fine spinner of yarns! I am captivated by your poetry.

In this poem, here is an illustration of why I enjoy reading you.

"Pale sweet colors of afternoons
Wandering in the mind of nature
She gives me her autograph
In pictorial passages"

You have a uniquely colourful way of expressing yourself through the written word!

Love to you, Contessa Poetessa!

Linda
