As the eagle flies
I hear the cries
from a far and distant past
calling me..

return and see
just what mankind has cast

away

thrown to the side
while buried deeply, yet residing
here, there and everywhere...

On sacred soil
we have tread
while tears of Nations
on earth were bled
seeping deep
into the ground
uniting each
      all are bound
by the whispers
on the wind

the ancient spirits, in wisdom
speak again

With the rising
of each dawn in new
remember this;

the past holds truths
that binds one to all
and all to one
in circles   completed

and just begun....

In this moment be still as the eagle flies

Listen,  as the eagle cries.

each time makes me stronger...but after the fall....
we get back up and move on,
because the past is the past
and there is no tomorrow
if remaining in still waters
while the river flows on...~dmsmith~

there is always..a past..a history
some ugly some revised some just there...

you touch gently upon the ones who walked before..and I have a great reverence for them..

well done ma'am

Donna... A post with a two edged sword.
           Both sides elegantly written.
One poetic reminder of our responsibility
         and stewardship to our heritage.
           And a second philosopical  reminder
        of our responsibility to ourselves.
Thank you, Milady Gentle Spirit, for
        both of the gifts shared.

Gentle Spirit,

Just to let you know, I think your poetry is amazing!  Your format leads me to read each word with the strongest feeling or emphasis.  Yes, everything from history to the rain cycle does seem to repeat!  Enjoyed very much!
