Move Over

The world will stop without you?
No-one can take your place?
Wake up and smell the coffee
The facts you now should face
To be part of the system
You have to bend your mind
In fact you’re almost nothing
I know it sounds unkind
Life can go on without you
There’s always someone new
I know at least a million folk
With self importance too

Stupid Ignorant Rat

Why should I call you SIR
Why should I call you that
The last initial’s easy
Of course it stands for Rat
The first initial Stupid
Just ears with nowt between
I just stand’s for Ignorant
The worst I’ve ever seen

Laughing

Folk are laughing at you
Not with you as you think
Trying to avoid the smell
Is that your feet that stink
Go back to the office
Pollute your own space there
As long as you are out of sight
We don’t really care

Sweet? (laughting here) Your wit is sharp and your poetry enjoyable.  I'll try to remember to stay on your good side, the Boss didn't so it seems

Okay, I think one of my old bosses moved over to you.  I am laughing - and I don't want that boss back.  Ever.  Thank you.

Thankyou for your comments

The boss isnt always right but he/she is always the boss (Until of course you get promoted above him.... or her)

I was fortunate to have Lizzy as my boss (No chance of outranking her) I suppose lots of folk have Queens as bosses nowadays

I just wrote the poem as a sort of joke people on the "shop floor" are usualy only happy when they are moaning about something.

No I couldn't live without them
below me on the floor.
If only they would use their brains
they wouldn't be so poor.
As boss I don't do nothing
double negatives allowed.
But would you understand this
if from the common crowd.

I don't care if you hate me
and think that I'm a rat,
for that is not the game I'm in,
no that's not what I'm at.
I'm here to make a living
make sure that you don't shirk,
for managers just manage
while others do the work.

The world don't stop without them
there's more to take their place.
While I'm just drinking coffee
they strive in life's rat race.
Ignorant I may be
but stupid I am not.
I'd rather be the stinking boss
than have to work a lot!

If moaning keeps you happy
then cry into your beer
and write your little poems
for those who want to hear
just how flippin stupid
you are to work like slaves
then say you're laughing at ME!
you're welcome to your raves....
