I wake in thirst and suck my teeth
why do I taste cake?
and these
stones that convolute the waves
to froth the river, rapid dreams
are merely daunted screams
of these
grins of sin
impurity
suckled at my own dry teat...

so why do I taste cake?

I bleed -

sacred primal urgency
from my lower lip, trembling,
from the bite of my own teeth
my feet are too far from the floor

it's too damned hot
for shivering
and I
am much too full
for more:

I woke in thirst of rapid dreams.
I smelled the vapors sick and sweet.
I recognized formeldahyde
baffled by the chemistry
of joy
of life
of misery

wondering which part of me

had died

and why

do I taste cake?

Never eat cake before going to bed. It will do this to you everytime.

Nicely done with neopolitan images!

Good to read your work again Celeste....LOL!
That was a long time ago wasn't it?

Oh Eric--

Celeste--laughing, it's all good, because that one is ours to share.

Please tell me you have some clips on youtube--so I won't have to beg.

I have missed you much, mon amis.

Grinning--came back to add...cake before bedtime might explain why I wake up with crumbs. LMAO

Um....you're gonna love this one sis.  For the past week I've been lighting vanilla candles.  Why?  Because I love the scent and it reminds me of...

Wait for it...

Cake.

The scent reminds me of cake. I love cake, and cake loves me.  Well, mostly...there was that very first cake where I learned that flour needs a thorough sifting prior to mixing.  Lawd but that sucker was dense and heavy.  When even dogs won't eat, something is amiss.

Anyhow.

CAKE!

I just finished making vanilla cake with chocolate icing. I think, for some reason, that this is one of my favorites of yours. I enjoyed it very much, lady.

Looking forward to your next.

Blazing a path with this one Mrs. Serenity. I don't think you burned the cake with this posting, it's as sweet as ever.  And I think that's why you keep tasting cake, because every word that rolled across your lips as you penned this one couldn't help but leave a sweet taste in your mouth.  We'll all have cavities after reading this one.  Well written.

Well, Karenity

Cake may be the thing that sets us apart from all other creatures...

The apex of our achievement...

Seriously ...
