What did I do to be denied
what was the sin irreconciled?
I am, I am, the babe reviled.
I was born
a motherless
conception greeted by disgust
a baby conceived in mistrust.
I was shot with pelvic thrust
into a world that lied and lied.

Daddy, Daddy, save me please?
It's said in the good book that sheep
even one child gone astray
won't be left to drift away.

What did I do to be denied?

I will write you begging words--
I will write what will be heard
if I knew what words to say--
tell me, tell me, how to pray,

What did I do to be denied?

Apologies
for circumstance
and sad sad smiles
for a bad dance
of tango
in my unawares...
"I'm sorry"
dirty underwear

wishing

I'd worn none.

Once again...
you leave me without
words.

But if I keep reading
you
I may find them
once again.

"I was shot with pelvic thrust
into a world that lied and lied."

powerful lines, I felt the thrust..

and I disagree...you could never be denied, not where it really counts, all the rest?  May not be as important as you think..

"...worn none"

The best way to go..

love you so..

you are captivating...and your life's experiences have gleemed you a literary expressionist....and if you could paint, I would most certainly be inflicted with Stendhal syndrome
and that's a good thing....

hugs to you...

Wow. Boy, this is powerful Karen. Lot's of lines and phrasing I could quote as being "key" but if I did that, I think I'd be copying the whole poem.

Wonderful expression ... a compelling read throughout every line. VERY much enjoyed this.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Karen...the depth and honesty of your writing is naked, just as you wish it to be....and beautiful.

Thank you all so much--I am always touched by your generosity, especially so these days, while I as so distracted so easily.

(I have always hated August--and now it hates me back. )

Thanks again for your warmth.

Babe,

Never threaten and never ever beg.  Keep it naked!

This piece is pure raw power.

I would not mind at all hearing your works spoken aloud, as you have this gift for vernacular presentation.  What you slap together haphazardly sings a poignant voice in a voice which begs for one.

And happy belated anniversary.

I've always heard that God doesn't make mistakes... but often felt I was evidence to the contrary.

Which may be why I feel this to the bone...

On the other hand... *S* There is that talent thang of yours... and is it ever tremendous! *S*
