Felix Gets Old

Felix is in his seventies,
and he’s slowing down.

He drives to
the shopping center
to buy a book.

The book store
seems to have
disappeared.

He drives home,
but gets lost
on the way back.

He’s been to
that book store
and back
hundreds of times.

Felix knows now,
he is getting old, old, old.

It’s a sad thing.

Bobby

Felix doesn't remember how to get home but is still driving?

Maybe it's time for Felix to be waited on.

SC,

Oh, I don't know.  In actuality, there was a detour sign involved.

I won't tell Felix what you said.  He can be dangerous.

I was merely looking out for Felix's best interst!

Felix's danger meter can't hold a candle to life.

Tom,

It's not the end of the Felix poems.  Many more adventures to follow.

Magnus,

Indeed it is.  I took a turn at a detour sign, and it took me to a neighborhood here in my beloved city that I was not familiar with.  No harm done, just a little sight seeing excursion.

Perhaps a little explanation is in order.

People here in Philadelphia tend to be rather provincial.  We tend to stick to our own little neighborhood in the city.  Of course, leaving the city itself is practically out of the question.  It can be said we don’t really get out much.

I think that’s the way it is with all large cities.
