Lush arborvitae share spaces
with trailing domestics
of Fuschia, Jasmine, Honeysuckle.
Deep viridian fern fronds spread lacy fingertips
as they meander wooded paths gracefully
highlighting miles of highway,
while scraggly survivalist branches
of native wind-swept cypress limbs
dangle precariously over rocky cliffs,
clinging tenaciously to mighty Pacific ledges
above a thunderous crashing sea.
A solitary pelican swoops,
swiftly scoops a bountiful meal.
Blue jays screech territorial tunes
from nearby towering pines
as rambunctious squirrels scurry
seeking fallen treasures.
In the presence of Gaia's diversity,
my spirit ascends with each rising salt spray,
soars above the trees and beyond
the purest Vincent cobalt sky
adorned with Titanium white cumulus.
Diversity in Chaos rules.
Terra Firma is but one dimension
of the vast expansiveness,
Universal Life.

Three more weeks until I visit the
Oregon coast again, and I can't wait!
Your writing just put me there, so naturally.

I always love to read you.  ~K

You describe the most beautiful place on Terre Firma as no one else could.

a 'Universalist' !

It would be rather impossible to improve
on the appropriate comments about this
grand ‘Universalist’ write (celebrating
“Gaia’s magnificent diversity) already
posted by other  fine ‘P.I.P.’ word-painters!…

ergo, I will say only that I am especially
fond of imagery such as:

“viridian fern fronds spread(ing) lacy fingertips”
[gracefully meandering wooded paths];

“survivalist…native wind-swept cypress”
[above that thunderously crashing sea];

“the purest Vincent cobalt sky
adorned with Titanium white cumulus.”

Very serious and long-sustained applause!!

A humble thank you, dear friends.
Nature always provides me with plenty of food for thought, though lately some of it...effects of global warming, specifically, is difficult to swallow.

As Margherita said, 'it is a work of art,'

you've put a lot of thought into that very

expressive poem. great write much enjoyed.
