they were the lovely times in august
when I was the envy of the block
on those death valley afternoons
as the only one with a snowplow
and a four wheel drive revolver

they didn't find me strange too
when I built the eclectic ark
it made some reasonable sense
that if there was ever snowed hard
and it melted all at once

but there was also laughter after
when I put your picture up there
on the sail of my dry docked yacht
in your muscle girl gaudiness
with your hair down whisper friendly

hoping you would be a shopper soon
for mirages with tattoo blues
and wouldn't mind a antique or two
as long as they were wealthy
and wearing someone else's sun

and I was willing with my red wagon

I don't know why~~ but this left me laughing...

but I don't always "get" these meanings correct ( I am not a very deep thinker)
