In a world of reactionary principles
if one would learn how to live
one must learn first how to die.
To know a thing,
understand its opposite.
Men seek to know themselves
by attaching themselves to women –
and vice-versa –  the polarity dance...

Busy are we rushing through life:
who has time to ponder
such a dark concept as death?
Why should one waste time
deliberating the many ways to die?

But this is not about dying –
but learning how to die
in order to live!
Those who have learned how to die
no longer need to die!

Now some may ask:
“How do I learn how to die?”
So simple:
It’s but a matter of living at odds
with everything offered by the System.
What it calls good - turn from.
What it sells, refuse to buy.
What it insists is truth, know for a lie.

Have, but don’t own –
Laugh with, but never at –
Make love - yes, as much as you can
and as much as you dare –
but don’t fall in love.
Know that beauty, once purchased
becomes nothing more than pretty
and eventually, just pretty cheap.

Simply live each day
convinced it’s the Last Day.

Only one little part that I disagree with, and you can guess which one.
Have a great year, WW.

MANY important points made with succinct and powerful clarity in this 'write!'

I am especially fond of the advice with respect to:

"living at odds
with everything offered by the System.
What it calls good - turn from.
What it sells, refuse to buy.
What it insists is truth, know for a lie(!)"

The "Runaway American Dream" in particular has most certainly (and sadly)
morphed from a grand experiment in participatory representative 'Democracy'
into a corporate 'mediocracy' wherein practically everything has become steeped in
'smoke and mirrors' [Machiavellian 'Marketeering' (like privateering as in pirating)]
manipulation, propaganda, and outright lies...and, one of the loneliest, self-referential
societies anywhere.

significant applause for this 'penning'!
