They become leaves again,
no longer figures of doom
that spin on their own stems of insanity

clouds don't hang alabaster umbrellas on them
and they are not swaying ballerinas
that rehearse for the last dance of summer

some weave their way into puddles
that threaten to coat
then incarcerate them
in a semi-permanent fugue state
as  degrees start to dip past the 3- 2 spot

but for now they are leaves again

just waiting on the mood of viewer.

Trees have their own unique spirit, just as a certain goddess I have come to admire.
Lovely eyes see beyond the cloud umbrellas!

You've captured the time of the mood of ice
just right in this one...

well done, little one!

Nice, I do not like ice storms and this is what it brought back to me-and it is dark, that is how you feel when you have no power to heat your house. Thanks.

I'm in the mood of viewing splendid green leaves dancing to a summer tune without checking the calendar ...

Great stuff indeed!

Love and Happy New Year, dear Michele.
