It may not be wise
but I'll stay,
my love,
whether for enoblement
or pathological desire
I cannot define.

Past sacrifices
brought me here
consuming or consumed,
willing and unwilling,
they are a mystery,
apparently I am a fool.

With a turn of the sun
I must die
so the world can pass over
renewed,
that is my bargain,
the promise I will not avoid.

Just thought I'd have a go and say hi at the same time

(btw this is "The Hanged Man").

grinning...I don't mind re-petes!

And oh...my, I was gonna post the Hanged Man on Sunday as another challenge! And Pete, you do know that the Hanged Man is also thought to represent St. Peter...?

Yeah, I'll bet you knew that.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for choosing such an interesting debut! LOVED it!

Welcome to passions.....I like this poem alot  I'll bet the hanged man knows about the martyrs sacrifices.

The second stance is my favorite....brings up the question of what calls us to go and what begs us to stay....???

Something tells me that you'd make a fine poem out of the High Priestess too..

If at first you don't succeed destroy all the evidence that you tried.
