White Satin

If you loved me as much
as you said you did
then why did you go away
and leave me behind,
messing up my mind,
tearing me apart,
destroying the desires
of my heart, until
all I wanted to do
was to cry until I died
while my broken heart
tried to get over you.

"Once a woman that I cared
for gave me a medallion.
She said to close my eyes
as she hung it upon my neck.
The medallion was a knight
upon a stallion and for a season,
a very short season she was my princess
and I was her knight in white satin."

Thank you marcel and Roniece for the nice responses...
No worry Roniece, this happened a long time ago, but it really bothered me at the time, and it still reminds me sometimes...James
