My feet are so cold I haven't worn shoes in weeks
I'm so weary and tired, I have nowhere to sleep
This jacket isn't keeping me warm, I've had it since the war
NO money to spend, should I just rob this store?
My hands are frostbit, these gloves aren't doing the job
I'm starting to lose my mind, Is my name Jim Or Bob?
This raggedy hat is worn out, my head and ears are froze
My whole face is numb, I cant even feel my nose
The government got me into this, why cant they get me out
Before I went to war, my life was filled with clout
So I will just sit here with the cart full of old clothes
When will I die? who cares and who knows
I've lost all hope and feel forever hopeless
Because nobody cares to stop and help the homeless..

Thank you for this very sensitive write.
As long as there will be even one homeless, it means something is wrong, very wrong with how we manage the resources of our Earth. And for now there are millions of them all over the world, a step away from the glittering world which cares not.

Your words speak to our conscious.

Love,
Margherita

How does something like this happen?!? ~ It's an out and out abomination that some of those who have been sent off to war, end up homeless and forgotten!

Whenever I see a homeless person, I wonder what their story might be. I donate food to the local Food Bank and whatever else I can do to help the needy in their plight. ~ but that is just small potatoes. What they really  need is for the government to step in ~ and step up!

Your compassionate poem got me inside the skin of a homeless person ~ and it hurt!
