ah, blue pieta, relent
and darken the darker lodestone of sorrow,

look your last on all things lovely,

lure to blue the silver spine of poplars,
satin leaves and cockleburs of gold cleavage,
from the lavender’s bee-threshed exotic heat,
its dark arteries aburr with the splendor
of heaven’s blue wound,
a koan of wicks and blunt expiring,

upon the black water at the secret center
of the soul’s cradle, grim
the hallowed gallows loom
above the blue threshold of weeping,

I am the utter poverty of god, his emptiness

blurs into a spell of silverfish,
schooling from my long, unlikely body,
such a fluent and staggering answer, blue
on blue,
these puny ransoms for forever,

ever after,
out of darkness,
we enter into darkness, repeat
the Lotus Sutra,
and I am dream, made flesh,
the white hot root of my body awakens
from its heavy integuments of winter’s repeal,

ah, blue pieta, relent
and darken the cataract
of one falling star to the bray of night,
regret is nothing but a coddled wish,

a breadth of light, burning
at our doorjamb, made of oiled paper, lit
and red, a vellum wound, pinked newsprint
streaming with silver koi fish,

my heart is a hollow zither,
deaf with longing, a Gershwin lullaby
glints against the clock glass, and hums,

what is not yet lost, but will be,

this puny chattel
winter banishes in moments,

look your last, on all things lovely.

~ I may not always understand what you are saying, but I sure do love the way you say it! lol

I could read your poetry over and over again (and have often do so) and come up with a different interpretation each time. ~ and that's a good thing!

You are one mighty talented Baby! lol
