As Always

The weight
is heavy on my mind
as it slips slowly from this body.
The tiredness detracting
from the feel of happiness
that once romanced my every day dreams.

There is a sense of seasons
passing too quickly, support lacking
and a feeling of emptiness rising
behind these eyes
that use to see clearly
but now are blurred.

My past becoming my present
and my present disappearing
into the past, leaving me
to dwell within the fragments
of those days that once gave me hope.

There are no comforting thoughts,
only disappointments while waiting
to gain back what I have lost.

M

This took me straight into the realms of care homes, and the feelings of despair and abandonment from those who are losing contact with this life.

"There are no comforting thoughts,
only disappointments while waiting
to gain back what I have lost."

As a person who lives the truth that all life is interpreted by one's mind(soul) I have terrible problems with this 'twixt and between' realm where the link to in any way controlling our emotions lies.

From experiences I will not go into, I am certain that your words "waiting to gain back what I have lost" are in fact more accurate than it is comfortable to explain.

Very, very powerful poetry that I almost wished I had not had the reminder from. If it helps one person for a few minutes to appreciate the situation you describe and prompts them to offer kindness and help to those in this situation you may have helped in the healing process needed for a soul to move on.

I never thought of it that way, Ivor and hope it wasn't upsetting to you.

It is how I feel right now in my life, and I am just trying to "hold it all together".

I tend to think that the disappointments of the past can spoil our future if we let them creep unduly into todays thoughts...James

Oh Maureen, hope should never be banned to the past, it's there always to come to our rescue, but we must breathe it through the tears and allow it to manifest NOW.

Your radiance longs to be seen, let it enter front stage.

Impactful write ... but too sad, yes.

Love and hugs.
