on maybe street you would be dark wood
with heavy scent of secrets
embossed with carvings
suggesting but not yet completed

and I would be drift sand safety
covering just parts of you
while the moon noticed others
and the wind too was a voyeur there

one with bad eyes that had to touch
and you would moan sometimes
when you were exposed more
and less of me covered you

but then again the wind
seems to enjoy the together of us
more than you alone so I move around
and almost cover somewhere else

just when the moon was becoming comfortable

Your use of imagery is so masterful that each reader
can see a different picture painted in front of them
than perhaps the next can.
For some reason? I saw a man walking a deserted beach
at Moon/Night/day break with a small broken boat along the shore line
and him walking up to her, casting shadows across her
as the sun rises, admiring where all she had been and the stories
she could tell. (ok, so I have a vivid imagination...   )

This is what I saw.
As I said, your use of imagery is so unique.
And your closing lines?  Always perfection
big daddy.

I loved this one D.

I see Blackwater Slough
It's dark even in mid day
Trees reaching to the sky
skeletal arms

And even in the warmth of summer
the air dances with the wind
and chills heated skin

The moon is there
just out of sight

And this I see from your words
Hot days cooling in river lowlands

another most fine ‘write’ from an exceptional poet!:

I especially LOVE:

“…dark wood
with heavy scent of secrets”;

and:

“just when the moon was becoming comfortable”

serious applause!
