at 8 in the evening we dine al fresco his soft brown fingers longer than dreams of touching them feed me artichoke hearts with lemon butter he passes me a look of sweet hunger a paint brush loaded with yellow …paint now he says leaning back in his chair legs crossed indulgence filled snifter in hand I become a watcher feasting on my own life wrapped in joypain unsure how this pleasure belongs to me as my hand lifts brush and I paint poems on the wall of him |

fascinating 'write!' I LOVE: "wrapped in joypain(!)" [kinda' sums-it-all-up for me...in terms of the effect of caring about anyone...like 'random acts of kindness'...all such feelings seldom go unpunished] serious applause for this penning!! |
