The point of turning

Never sure whether it was that
I took the time to stop and survey
the promised hardships ahead
or it was that
I hesitated just enough to let the darkness
catch up and turn my shoulder with a tap
but however it happened for these few moments
I was stationary.

Murmurs from the darkness
echoed that this was
the point of turning;
perception was swallowed as the shadows
called for my retreat.

The path is too hard
a whisper tugged from behind
but my ear refused to let the sound catch hold
it was too late for darkness deception
to take me from this the appointed Path.

Long ago the turning point had been reached
and passed
as the Father called me by name
onward I press
ever reaching towards the Truth
and the Light.

...apologies for posting 2, but I don't get to come very often....and I miss it

and can find some luminosity within
the sunshine...

and you know what I mean...

it is then that I know
all will be well...
