You left,
amongst the strewn hearts that tumble earthward into the
cavernous yawn of a river’s edge.  Accepting no quarter,
giving none as a solemn tear struggles to simply lie still
amongst the damp earth....can it be?

I Died,
there upon that brown dusty hill, whispering to my foe,
he who follows my shadow nightly, he who dawdles and
dabbles in wait of what is certain to come...as my breath
strains to leave, and my eyes fight the closure of life

As waters rise

effortlessly into the star laden skies and
nothing lies beside the anger of my accursed demise...
and a tender, shimmering tear scrawls a last word upon
a worn cheek, suffering from too many filtered packs
and few scraped plates of Mulligan’s best before the
spuds became a toothless man’s savior and a stick of
corn dares him to try...before the eve departs and
a harvest moon’s chill awakens the dead once more.

A past life recall, perhaps?

So vividly portrayed, that I found myself gasping and hungering for air ~ but alas, 'twas not meant to be...

Your poetry blossoms by the day!  Though frought with anguish, this poem is very beautiful!  I hope that part (or all) of this is not alluding to bad news about your health and a repeat/continuation of your past operation.  I have a horrible feeling, though, that it is.

My sincere wishes for your good health and happiness.

I sent Owl an email....  for the rest,  fear
not,  I am on the mend from some skin cancer
surgery on one of my eyelids...Not 100
percent yet,  but getting there....no fun
driving with one eyeball vice two... but
back to two peepers now, though very sensitive
to sunlight...driving me bonkers....

hugs a bunch....Mag.
